What is Breast Reduction?

Breast reduction surgery is a procedure needed in cases where the breasts are larger than normal, such as during pregnancy, overweight and breastfeeding. Breast size is a serious health problem as well as an aesthetic surgery. Because large breasts cause problems such as back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, restriction of physical activities, wounds under the breast, inability to wear the desired clothes and bra straps cutting the shoulders. In order to eliminate these discomforts of people who are uncomfortable with this situation, some of the tissue, fat and skin that gives fullness to the breasts are removed.

What Should I Consider Before Having Breast Reduction Surgery?

The first thing you should definitely do before breast reduction surgery is to have a breast ultrasound. Then you should stop using aspirin, blood thinners and some painkillers two weeks before the surgery. It is important not to use blood thinners such as vitamin E, green tea, ginseng, herbal tea and flaxseed. It is also recommended to stop smoking about a week before the operation. Otherwise it will take time for the wounds to heal.

Will I Have Scars After Breast Reduction Surgery?

As in many plastic surgeries, breast reduction surgery will also leave small scars. Breast reduction surgery leaves an inverted T-shaped scar. Since this scar is around the nipple ring, it will not be obvious because it coincides with the color change area. The scars under the breast will turn into thin and faint lines that are not obvious at all.
